Repairman Jack and I both purchased 80 GB iPods for ourselves for Christmas and I have to say that I'm loving it!! Thus far I've loaded 10 GB of tunes into this little black gem, I think that means I can now listen for 7.5 days straight. How cool is that? The best part about is that we can hook our iPods up to the stereo instead of having to hunt for cds and load them when we want to hear something in particular. Everything is now just a touch away, amazing! I can't wait to finish loading my favorites in the iPod, it's sort of a daunting task because my audio collection is so huge.
One of the really good things about it is that you can load new cds of groups you don't normally listen to and if you don't like them, just delete them from your iTunes. I love hitting shuffle, you never know what's going to come up. I had copied RJ's iTunes library (he had a 4GB iPod previously) so I had a base collection to start with. He had a number of girl groups in there, something I'm not usually crazy about. But when you hit shuffle you get them in small doses and now I'm appreciating them a bit more.
The iPod is a great little tool, I think all music lovers should have one!

SG, hard for me to believe that even in small doses girl groups are something one can appreciate, but I will take your word for it. ;D My early generation 40GB iPod is ablout three and a half years old, and gets very odd looks from my younger colleagues, but it still performs wonderfully - and the 10,000 or so songs provide significant variety for me. Soon enough I will have to bite the bullet and purchase a more contemporary model, but I am in no rush. Hard for me to remember the last time I took out a disc and actually played it in a CD player! I'm talking groups like Garbage, Devil Doll, Kcleveland, The Donnas, Eisley... strong female singers and hard driving music bordering on punk. Yeah, they're girls but they're completely different from the Britney's of the world: No pop sound here. I've just learned how to copy albums from RJ's folder to mine, now we both won't waste hours and hours uploading cds --- we can copy what the other person has already loaded. Yipppee!!!
