The Concert for Bangladesh - George Harrison and Friends - Deluxe Version. This has just been re-issued in a 2-DVD box set, remastered, digitally enhanced with all kinds of extras and additions. I picked this up at Tower Records yesterday and yes... it is superb, timeless stuff!
Here's some background info for those who were too young (or old) to remember:
The Concert for Bangladesh was the first benefit concert of its kind in that it brought together an extraordinary assemblage of major artists collaborating for a common humanitarian cause-setting the precedent that music could be used to serve a higher purpose. The concert sold out Madison Square Garden and has helped to generate millions for UNICEF and raised awareness for the organization around the world, as well as among other musicians and their fans. It is acknowledged as the inspiration and the forerunner to the major global fundraising events of recent years. To quote the United Nations Secretary General Kofi Annan, "George and his friends were pioneers."
Performers include:
George Harrison Ravi Shankar Leon Russel Eric Clapton Billy Preston Bob Dylan Badfinger Ringo Starr
***** (Five Star rating)

Sounds like a good purchase Jzero! I was just reading a review of this on Thursday and ordered it for my library on cd. Some more tidbits about it--- in the review I read it mentioned what a shock it was to see Bob Dylan play since at the time he rarely made public appearances. Also, when it was released George's record label released the vinyl album and Dylan's the cassette. The record labels also would not allow stores to discount the items. George was a trendsetter who will be missed

I might have to invest in that!!
I have The Concert for Bangladesh on vinyl. I love Badfinger and they were basically George's back up band at this point.
