Starting a thread to talk about this totally addictive show. Anybody else a fan? Not yet! I'm sorry we didn't start watching it from the get go. Did you start with the first season? I ordered it from the library but it hasn't come in yet. What do you like about it?

What do I like about it? It's simply, hands down, the best television drama I've ever seen. Firefly was sublime with witty writing. BSG is gritty, realistic and frankly fabulous.
You need to start at the miniseries and work your way up to the present.
If you're thinking about the old Battlestar Galactica, throw that away. This new show is as good as the old show was bad. It is FAR FAR better than anything you would expect.
I've bought two TV series in my life: Firefly and BSG.

Cool, we'll check it out!!
And on a completely different front... Have you ever watched Veronica Mars? RJ and I are addicted to it!!! It's like Buffy without the supernatural element, in fact it's almost exactly like Buffy. Joss Whedon loves this show and in fact guest starred in season 2 as a rental car agent. The twisty plot lines, the writing, the acting, the angst... another sublime show! We bought season 1 and we're now working our way through season 2. It's strangely addictive, we sit there and watch 3 episodes in a row sometimes.

Haven't seen Veronica Mars. So much TV, so little time. I'm still working on Season 1 of Buffy.

I'm still a big fan of the original Battlestar Galactica. I have not tried the new version, but have heard good things. I guess I will have to check out the miniseries first to see what is what.
And on the idea of resurrecting old scifi has anyone checked out the latest Doctor Who? I love it!!!

If you get the Season 1 DVD set, the first DVD is the same as the miniseries. I promise you, you will be hooked.

I ordered it from the library today. If it is not great you will be hearing about it... Jesus, what are you going to do, send Guido after him? I'm way ahead of you, I ordered it from the library a while ago. Still waiting.... In the meantime I've brought home the first season of Nip/Tuck. I never wanted to watch this when it first came out (I don't really care about people trying to make themselves 'beautiful') but since then I've discovered that there's more to the show than meets the eye. Thought we'd give it a whirl anyway!

Ok Stubedoo, we got the Battlestar Gacracktica miniseries dvd from the library and.... you're right, it is electronic crack!! The special effects, characters, plot situations and intensity put you right in the action. RJ and I both loved the original series and it was interesting to see what they did with the characters. Boomer is an Asian chic?! Before RJ put the disc in the player he noticed a huge scratch on side A. We thought we'd try it anyway... We made it up to the point where Commander Adomo was demanding that the president's ship join the rest of the fleet and then they went off the radar. All of a sudden the dvd player stopped and started doing some odds things, it appeared to be checking the disc and it turned off twice. Not wanting to ruin the dvd player, we took the disc out. Now we can't finish the miniseries! Oh the humanity!! Maybe we'll just have to go out and buy the first season on dvd (which includes the miniseries as the first disc).

It get much MUUUUUCH better. Stubedoo
