We have a new homerun king. Barry Bonds hit number 756 tonight to pass Hank Aaron for the all time home run record. I was able to catch the at bat live. As a baseball fan it was a special moment. Love him or hate him--believe he cheated by taking illegal performance enhancing drugs or not--it is still an amazing feat. To make a decision to swing a round bat at a round ball when you only have a fraction of a second to decide is unbelievable. 33 years ago I was able to see Hank Aaron pass Babe Ruth and now I get to see Barry pass Hank. Priceless...

I agree it is quite a feat, however I must admit that seeing Hank Aaron do it produced a heartening and warm feeling. Sorry to say, Barry Bonds feat is amazing in its own right, but it is hard for me to admire it in the same way. Still, it must have been interesting to watch it happen. Can't say that I did. MQ

Well, living in the Bay Area all I hear is Barry Barry Barry Barry Barry Barry Barry Barry Barry. And I don't know any Giants fan who actually likes the guy. I'm just glad the whole thing is over with so I don't have to see the "Home Run Watch" every day on the front page of the sports section. I thought the best part was Hank Aaron's classy video.

Hank Aaron's taped speech was classy. Not surprising considering who he is. Personally I never have been a Bonds fan--father or son. As a baseball fan though I have to tip my hat at Barry for doing what I never thought would be done. And I am glad I was able to see it live on tv. As a big sports fan anytime I can see a major milestone happen I am a happy person.
