Do you like them? Hate them? I have a love/hate relationship with them. I really like some music videos, but hate others. The problem is that when I hear a song I get a picture in my mind of what that song means to me. Then I see the video and it never matches my ideas. The other problem is when I see a video for the first time before I have heard the song that is the image I will get from now on. Still, everytime I say I am not going to watch any more videos I will see one that really is great so I keep watching. It is like a vicious circle...

Music videos evoke a picture in my mind of a skinny little runt of a human being prancing around the screen and screeching.... "I'm bad! I'm bad..."

I have never cared for music videos outside of actual concert footage. The lip-synching and silliness that goes along with most of them seem to have absolutely nothing to do with the music that they pretend to promote. It's just a way of getting to rake in a few more royalty bux and get some more notariety on MTV and the other channels that play that stuff.
I've never cared for Tull's videos much either, although at least I'm interested to see the band in whatever form they might have been at any given time.

p.s. (Prancing? I'm bad! I'm bad? I wonder which artist he could be talking about?)
