Well Howdy, Just wanted to write to say we have some shows in the near future, so check out www.cuyuga.net for details. On another note, I went to see Gordon Lightfoot in Seven Springs Pa. last weekend (been a hero of mine for a long time). This was my second attempt to see him, the first was cancelled because he almost died from an abdominal anuerism(?spelling?). So needless to say that I was pretty excited. 8 show time and after a beautiful day things were looking good. Except for the severe t-storm that went rolling through at the time. Show gets cancelled. 0 for 2. Well I'm gonna try again in Boston in Oct. Any other Lightfoot fans out there?

Wow, that almost seems like fate's wrath, Marcus! I hope you get to see him in Boston. My cousin was always a big GL fan, she told me he's an excellent performer. He's a talented musician who writes great music and lyrics. A friend of RJ's and mine is a fan, too. I recently saw an old hero of mine for the first time (Jim Messina). It only took 33 years! It would be great to see Cuyuga! The Happy Dog show sounds like a good date for us, we'll check our calendars and try to get a local entourage to attend as well.

My nephew Ryan's band, Hot Ham and Cheese (no, he didn't name them), is playing at Peabody's Downunder here in Cleveland on Saturday, September 17. Come and check him out if you're anywhere near the Rock Hall city that day --- he'll be the tall thin one playing the bass.

Not sure what time. We usually have to start there @ 9:30 sharp. We are splitting the night with some friends of ours from Akron called SC Butterband (kind of funky jam stuff). We are going to try to do a set of Cuyuga then a set of Butter than another set of Cuyuga and then Butter or the other way around. This way we can both get good time slots & nobody missus the opener. We played that way once at a show in Pittsburgh and it worked out really well for both bands. Hope to see yall there.

Cool Marcus, thanks for the tip!
Tell me, what's your favorite place to play in Cleveland?

By far, The Barking Spider, because there you are not the background jukebox. People are there to hear original music & don't yell for Sweet Home Alabama, well sometimes they do to get a laugh, but I love it because it feels like people actually listen to what you are playing and singing about, the only other places you get that is when you open for a band like Fairport, that still sticks in my head and always will, its nice to feel appreciated in a town where the cover band is king. But the owner of the Barking Spider will actually tell you to quiet down if you are talking too loud when people are playing, I personally love that. There are many places to play in Cleveland, but for what we are trying to do you cannot beat the warm reception you get at that "little ski lodge".

Good for the owner, Marcus! Drives me nutz when people talk over the band!
I agree with what you said about cover bands. What's really funny is that the last time we were at Barking Spider there was a band there playing Eric Clapton's Cocaine. LOL!! It's a fun place to go in the summer and sit outside with some pals.
