Another thing that happened on our road trip was we got to catch part of a show by a local area musician in Toledo. His name is Josh Boyd. He is a blues guitarist. Most of his set consisted of him on guitar, a drummer, and a bass player. A woman came on a sang backup vocals on a few songs and a guy played harmonica on a couple too. I am not sure how far they travel to play. My sister told me they play all over the Toledo area and also have seen them in Windsor, Canada. Check them out if you ever have a chance. Does anyone else have any great local musicians they like? I think my days of stadium shows or very large concert halls are over. I must be getting old I just think it is more fun to see a good act in a smaller venue.

Also that taping is encouraged. More bands should be willing to let people tape or else sell copies of each show.

While in Northern California last week, I happened upon a great local bluegrass band called Spinning Wheel. Wonderful energy, great music. Particularly impressed with one of the banjo players...Stube-something-or-other. Catch them if you can - or at least check their website: www.spinningwheelmusic.comMQ

Yes, I wish they'd tour here because then I could become a groupie! Stu, is there a Spinning Wheel t-shirt? Used to be, actually. I don't know what happened to them. We're doing a live concert CD next Sunday. Could be an unmitigated disaster. If not, I'll make copies.

Were you drunk while at the show MQ Keep rockin' Stubedoo! You need to take the band on the road I refrained from drinking so that Stubedoo would not be embarrassed by my behavior. I was doing just fine until I lit my cigarette lighter during one song, held it high, and started yelling, "Stuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu" followed by "Stubedoo KFA." Sorry about that Stu. MQ

Welcome aboard, Marcus! Folks, Marcus is the guitarist/singer of the great jam band Cuyuga -- I definetely recommend you see them! They're creative and tight, just what you need in a band, right? Plus, he's got the best dreads in town. Hope to make it there, Marcus, but if we don't please forgive those of us who work early! Have a great show! p.s. That logo on the first site reminds me of the cover of To Cry You a Song, the Tull tribute album put out by Magna Carta records. Nice!
