It appears that the Star Trek frachise is going out with a fizzle. The last movie kind of sucked, and the current TV show "Enterprise" is ending. I, for one, am a bit sad as I've been a devoted fan for over 30 years.

I have to say that I'm disappointed as well. It seems like Trek has been going since Kirk first sailed away on the Enterprise, but really there was a huge gap between the original Star Trek and the Next Generation. When I first heard about ST:NG I thought, "that's going to be terrible" but I think that it ended up being the best of all of the ST shows.
I haven't ever seen an Enterprise episode, were they any good? Is it that the quality of the shows went downhill or was it that people just became bored with it? I'm sure being on UPN instead of a real network didn't help.
What makes me mad about these types of shows is that they're almost never recognized in Award Land. Look at the X-Files and Buffy, for instance. What a shame.

I actually liked Deep Space Nine better than ST:TNG, but only in the last 3 seasons.
Enterprise started sucky but got better. It got cancelled because of lack of ratings.

Next Gen was my favorite of all the series. Deep Space Nine was ok. I only watched a few episodes of Voyager and could not get into it. I also never watched any of Enterprise. I am sad the run is ending, but I think it is for the best. For me the whole thing got stale. They need to take some time off and hopefully come back in a few years with a better concept.
