Lovely, my dear!! Such vibrant colors, very nice. I've often wanted to do a photo series about windows: Scenes through a window, light via a window, the window itself... You're really inspiring me!

g'morning Kelp. Always glad to inspire... I recently bought myself a new camera (Canon Rebel XTi) and am concentrating my photographic efforts on things that are old and falling to pieces ( a little like myself), mostly buildings... windows and so forth. Here are a few B&W samples. J

Those are wonderful!! You have a good eye, my dear. I love ruined buildings, they're so mysterious and it always makes me wonder what went on in there before they hit their demise. Love the textures and the contrasts, they're really great.
We have a Canon Digital Rebel XT, it's a great camera. Our other smaller digital is a Canon as well and I just love it!! Hmm.... maybe we should start an equipment thread in our little Gravity Eyelids Darkroom area...

Thanks Repairman and Kelp. I bought the new camera on a whim a few weeks ago... then once I had it, I decided that I should try to do something with it. I joined an online photography forum where I came across a picture that inspired me to set off in a particular thematic direction. I have a 4 GB memory card in my camera which allows me to take hundreds of pictures of the same thing in order to select what I consider to be one or two good ones, and on weekends I go off and spend several hours looking for photography subjects, mostly but not exclusively revolving around ruins and dilapidated buildings. Here's a sample of something slightly different: Winter Grove J

I love the spiny textures of the ancient looking branches!! I love dead plants, what are they? You're getting a look of a medium format camera there, those are things I hope to accomplish with the Rolleiflex. I belong to photo.net but there are so many posts that it's kind of daunting! I recently joined Nelson Foto which is here: nelsonfoto.com/v/index.phpPoodledoo is on it and I talked Max into joining, too! You should come along and display your wares, J....
