Since spending a large protion of the last 3 years in the middle East, I have become caffeine-addicted (mainly through the endless service of tea in the region). However, since then, my caffeine-addiction has modified to coffee as my dominant drink. Starbucks as plain coffee is over-roasted (burned? Yes, Char-bucks, as they say) for my tastes, but I still indulge occasionally with a venti coffee. My preference at Starbucks is a venti capuccino or venti caffe latte. Tim Horton's - mentioned in the article you linked us to - but without real mention of its coffee. Hearty and generally smooth - not the greatest coffee, but consistently good. Their donuts aren't bad either (better than Krispy Kreme by far). Also, living in Western New York, one needs to be loyal to TH, as he was a Buffalo Sabre in the twilight of his hockey career, in fact dying in a late night one car auto accident after a Sabres' game, as he was driving back to Buffalo from Toronto on the QEW. Strong as a bull and a true gentleman, pretty good defenseman at the height of his career with Toronto. Spot Coffee - a local and excellent choice for us in Western New York. Great coffee - and one store well connected - contiguous with New World Record - an amazing independent record store on the Elmwood strip. Family Tree - decent coffee at my most frequented Greek restaurant, generally for breakfast. Based on the article, I may try Dunkin' Donuts coffee. Not a fan of coffee at fast food spots like Mickey D's or BK, so haven't tried those "premium coffees." Stubedoo, is your friend still roasting beans in the Pacific Northwest? MQ

Dunkin' Donuts coffee is probably my favorite 'normal' coffee --- it has a rich, reliable flavor. Believe it or not, Cracker Barrel has some good coffee and they also have killer pancakes, BTW.... Stubedoo, is your friend still roasting beans in the Pacific Northwest? MQ I know! We should all order some of this coffee and try it and report back! Plus it would give Stubedoo's friend some business. ;-) Favorite coffees: Kona Jamaican Blue Mountain Mexican Costa Rican

Addendum to my earlier post: Panera - mediocre coffee in styrofoam cups that are cheap and often have a penchant for leaking with baked goods that look better than they taste, but I LOVE the free wireless internet, comforting music, and welcoming staff early in the morning. He's going to play the bagpipe and I'm going to play the banjo. We're going to get a friend who plays the accordian also. We're going to call it Ruido Doloroso.

I have simple tastes and prefer hot water strained through yesterday's socks with a splash of cranapple. (I hope that is not too vulgar!) But you see I've lost my mind recently. Being this is my first post, I promise better next time. For those who know me, thank you in advance for your tolerance. ;D Bobbo
