One of the amateur photogs I know, Neil Evans, likes to come in and visit me here at the library. Today he stopped in a gave me a lovely 8" x 10" of Dahlia Fantastique, shown on this page: www.webaperture.com/gallery/gallery.php3?act=si&sid=3339Webaperture.com is a nice little place for amateurs to display their wares, BTW....

Just doing a little image test, folks! This is John Hancock, remembered for his lovely and flamboyant signature. Look like he's up to something, doesn't it? This shot was taken from his gravesight at the Old Granary in Boston (across from a lovely pub!):

Very nice Kelp! What on earth prompted you to post a picture onto this site? J

Not sure I remember how to do this, but hopefully an image is included with this post. Today I have become a published photographer. Ha! Snapped a photo of a Japanese maple in front of my home after a recent freezing rain and submitted it to the Still Life section of Artvoice - a weekly local freebie alternative paper. Today I picked up the most recent copy and, lo and behold, my photo is included. Now to get a much better digital camera. Jzero has inspired me to start putting aside some funds toward such a purchase. MQ

OK, guess I didn't remember how to do it. (SG, help me.) Will this work? If not, SG, I'll need your insight. ;D MQ

Looks like it worked, Max!! That's a gorgeous shot, so lovely and fragile yet so ominous.

Excellent shot Max... If you have more of those, go ahead and post them. This is the sort of thing that sets off little bursts of inspiration in other amateurs like myself.

My dad used to be a professional photographer and had that camera, along with a bunch of other professional cameras. Recently, he gave them to a good friend of his who is trying to make a living doing art photography. She reminds me a little of Kram. www.kiracorser.com/Anyway, I needed a new digital camera, and I didn't have the knowledge or the patience to shop for one. So I asked my dad, "what should I buy?" And this is what he pointed me to. tinyurl.com/nb5zvIt's fabulous. 12X zoom, 6 megapixels, Leica lens. You can get a tricked out 12 megapixel one for about 200 dollars more, but I didn't need it. --Stubedoo

This is a slideshow of random snapshots taken in Osaka. Many of them either remind me of a Japanese horror film or make me think they'd make a good one. There are a few nudes in here, just thought I'd better let you know. It's kind of long but it really sucks you in! www.yamasakiko-ji.com/

J As I get time and remember to do so, I will post a few photos from my collection. Nothing grand, but fun to share. In keeping with your window studies, here is a variation on the theme. MQ

That's lovely my dear, it makes me feel that I should visit some ancient architecture for myself before I'm too old to enjoy it (or make it there!).
