I know not how the moderator will make a selection. Good luck. Just let me know. MQ I'm not going to make the decision, Max --- all the participants will! I'm going to make a poll of the titles this weekend. If there is tie we'll deal with it in a purely professional (or random!!) manner. So far we have 4 participants: MaX Shutter Girl Repairman Jack TriKrona Anyone else interested?

Alrighty Stu!
I think the books that we've all suggested are discussable and that may not necessarily be something we'd just pick up and read for a light read or for pleasure. Sometimes when I'm sort of 'forced' to read something I wouldn't normally I get something out of it and I'm very glad to have had the experience.
If anyone has anymore suggestions, please let us know. I'll post a poll on Sunday.

I meant 'Welcome aboard, Stu'! Ok, I've been asked to get this thing moving along! Stu, I 'm sure the Greene book is great but we'll have to pass because I'm not sure all of us could get into astrophysics (although I'm sure some of you can!). Here comes a poll....

Stu, I 'm sure the Greene book is great but we'll have to pass because I'm not sure all of us could get into astrophysics (although I'm sure some of you can!). Here comes a poll.... Now wait a second! It has nothing to do with astrophysics! It's only a book on relativity, gravity, quantum mechanics and string theory written totally for a lay person! If you've ever wondered what gravity REALLY is or why things slow down when you get close to the speed of light, this is the book for you! I reserve the right to continue whining and complaining until my book is included in the poll!

Ok, ok.... We'll have a non-fiction book discussion next and it will make it on the list! For right now, take a look at the offered titles on Amazon and make a choice. There are some goodies there! If you know me very well you'll know what I've chosen.

Nothing like the smell of a new book! Or of a new accordian, as Andy Giddings would say....

Stu, the poll is under Book Nook and it's called First Discussion Book. Because there were only 5 of us voting it seems that Ahab's Wife won already because it had three votes! For some reason you can see the results of the poll before you vote. Usually these things on webboards remain a secret until after you've voted --- I hope it didn't sway things in any direction. Perhaps next time we'll pull selections from a hat! Hope everyone enjoys the book, it looks great. If you liked Master and Commander, you might like this.

I tried to vote, but I couldn't figure it out. I hit submit vote and it voted Ahab for me. Next time I'll figure it out.
